Inspired by the covert smuggling traditions of the Copeland Islands, this rum honours the contrabandists who once brought new-world flavours to County Down’s shores. Smugglers’ Reserve Rum Oloroso Finish – Single Cask is a premium blend of dark Barbadian rum and light rum distilled in Donaghadee by us at Copeland Distillery, exclusively finished in a single Spanish 250L Oloroso Sherry cask, adding deep notes of dried fruit, warm spice, and velvety sweetness.
HOW IT SMELLS
Sweet! Foam bananas, glazed blanched almond and walnuts, caramelised banana split, fresh pineapple, little rubbery, demerara sugar, figs, and warm caramel sauce.
HOW IT TASTES
 Peanuts and walnuts, oily tanic heat, fresh tropical fruit, honey glazed cooked fruit and veg, candied apricot, a little floral.
THE FINISH
Lingering dry warmth and molasses.
