How It’s Made
Our Merchants’ Quay 5 Year Single Grain Irish Whiskey is our 5 Year Old Grain Whiskey
Aged in single use American Bourbon barrels and finished in a Muscatel Hogshead and a Pedro Ximenez Sherry Butt.
The combination of these casks delivers a truly unique whiskey with flavour profiles that will be hard to find anywhere else. Merchants’ Quay 5 Year Single Grain Irish Whiskey is lighter in colour than malts but we have maintained the natural colour from the cask aging. Non-chill filtered.
TASTING NOTES
Smell
Bright with strong notes of sweet fleshy fruits, caramelised apple, demerara sugar with a hint of elderflower and Jaffa cakes.
Taste
Sweet and spicy with mandarin and orchard fruits, dates in Dulce de Leche, honey drizzled ripe black cherries with a hint of warm oak, sweet custard and granola.
Finish
Dry sherry, browned caster sugar and mild spice.
